Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

Lapel Collar Jacket

A lapel collar jacket in brown, buttoning up the front, in sizes S to XL. It sits in the useful gap between a blazer and a coat — structured enough to sharpen an outfit, light enough that you do not take it off the moment you are indoors.

How this lapel collar jacket fits and layers

A notched lapel collar and a full button front, so it works open or closed and reads differently each way. The body is unlined and a normal mid-weight, which is the detail that makes it a three-season piece rather than a winter one: there is room to layer a knit underneath without the shoulders pulling. Take your usual size to wear it over a top, or size up if you want a sweater under it.

Fabric, pockets and care

94% polyester, 6% elastane. The elastane is there for movement rather than fit — it stops the sleeve binding when you reach across for a seatbelt, which is the usual failure point on a structured jacket. There are working pockets, deep enough for keys and a phone. Machine washable, which an unlined jacket in this blend can take and a lined wool one cannot.

What to wear with a lapel collar jacket
