Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

What moissanite is

Moissanite is its own gemstone — silicon carbide — not a diamond and not a cubic zirconia imitation. It was first identified in a meteorite crater in 1893, and what's sold today is lab-created.

Its optical properties are genuinely different from a diamond's: moissanite has a higher refractive index, so it throws noticeably more colored fire. Some people prefer that; others find it flashier than a diamond's white sparkle. It's worth knowing which you are before buying a 3 carat stone, because at that size the effect is not subtle.

On hardness it sits at 9.25 on the Mohs scale, below diamond at 10 but above sapphire. In practice that means it's a stone you can wear daily without worrying about scratching it.

Getting the size right

A ring is the one thing you can't adjust after it arrives, and a stone this size makes resizing harder. Wrap a strip of paper around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, and measure that length — that's your circumference.

Two things to account for: fingers run slightly larger at the end of the day and in warm weather, and your dominant hand is usually a touch bigger. Measure at normal room temperature, not when your hands are cold.

Caring for it

Sterling silver tarnishes — that's oxidation, not damage, and a silver polishing cloth reverses it. Store the ring in a closed box or pouch rather than open air, which slows tarnishing considerably.

Take it off before swimming, cleaning, or anything involving chlorine or bleach. Moissanite attracts oils the same way a diamond does, so if the sparkle dulls, warm water with a little dish soap and a soft toothbrush brings it back.

Questions we get

Is moissanite a fake diamond? No — it's a distinct gemstone with its own properties, not an imitation of another one. It throws more colored fire than a diamond and costs a fraction as much.

Will it pass a diamond tester? Moissanite conducts heat similarly to diamond, so it can read as diamond on older thermal testers. A modern moissanite tester distinguishes them.

Will it scratch? At 9.25 on the Mohs scale it's one of the hardest stones available. Everyday wear is fine.
