Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

  1. Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
  2. Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
  3. Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
  4. Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

  • Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
  • Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
  • Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

A long sleeve top in floral mesh with a mock neck — sheer, fitted, and made to be layered. Four deep colors: burgundy, navy, dark green, and dark brown.

It's sheer, and that's the design

The supplier lists this one as Mesh, Sheer — unambiguous, and unlike our lined mesh dress, there is no lining here. It will show what's underneath.

Most people wear it over a camisole or bodysuit, or under a blazer or slip dress where only the sleeves and neckline show. If you were picturing an opaque top, this isn't one.

It's also cut close

The bust measures 30.7" at S rising to 39.4" at XXL — narrow on paper. The 5% elastane means it stretches well past that in wear, but this is a fitted top by design, not a loose one.

Why the mock neck matters

A mock neck is a short stand-up collar that doesn't fold over. On a sheer fabric it does something specific: it gives the top a defined, almost formal edge at the neckline, which stops mesh reading as underwear and starts it reading as a designed garment. It's the difference between a sheer top that looks like a layer and one that looks like a choice.

How sheer is it? Genuinely see-through, and unlined. Buy it as a layer rather than a standalone top.

Does mesh snag? It can — on rings, rough nails, velcro. Wash it in a mesh laundry bag on cold and it holds up fine.

Which color first? Burgundy and navy are the two that layer most easily under dark tailoring.
