Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

Seamless high-waisted leggings in five colors: cream, camel, black, light blue, and neon green. Knitted rather than stitched, with a high-rise waistband that stays where you put it.

What seamless actually changes

Ordinary leggings are cut from flat fabric and sewn up the sides. Seamless ones are knitted in the round on a circular machine, so there are no side seams at all. Two things follow. Nothing rubs along the thigh where a seam would sit — which matters on a long run or a long day. And the knit density can be varied within the garment, tighter through the waist and looser through the calf, without adding a stitch.

That's why seamless leggings feel smoother under clothes and hold their shape differently to sewn ones.

Are they squat-proof? Any close-fitting legging can go sheer when fully stretched, and the cream and light blue are the ones to check. Do the mirror test before a class.

How do I keep the compression? Cold wash, no fabric softener, hang to dry. Softener coats the fibres and destroys the stretch; heat kills elastane.

Do they roll down? A high rise with a wide seamless band is the design that resists it best.
