Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

Nylon, not polyester

Most activewear is polyester. This set is 75% nylon with 25% spandex, and the difference is something you feel immediately — nylon has a softer, more fluid hand, which is where the "buttery" description comes from. It also has better stretch recovery, so it springs back rather than bagging at the knee.

The trade-off is that nylon holds odour more than polyester, so it wants washing after each wear rather than airing out.

A note on the measurements

The flat measurements read small — a 26" bust at S/4, a 21.3" waist. That's normal for compression knitwear: it's measured unstretched and designed to expand considerably. Go by your usual size rather than by those numbers, which will look alarming if you take them literally.
