Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

Plaid Long Sleeve Shirt Dress

A plaid shirt dress that buttons all the way down and belts at the waist — the two details that turn a straight shirt shape into something with a defined line.

The details that matter

Belted waist. Cinch it for shape, or leave it loose and wear the dress straight. Two silhouettes, one garment.
Buttons the whole way down. Which also means it works open, as a layer over a tee and jeans.
Long sleeves for three-season wear rather than a summer-only dress.
Four plaids, all in muted, wearable color ways rather than anything loud.
Sizes S through XXL, bust 37" to 45.7".

Fabric and fit

100% polyester with a slight stretch. Polyester is the practical choice for a plaid — it keeps the pattern lined up and doesn't crease across the lap the way a cotton flannel would after an hour of sitting.

Length runs 32.7" to 34.3" from the shoulder. That's shorter than a classic shirt dress: expect mid-thigh on most heights. Bust runs 37" at S to 45.7" at XXL. If you're planning to wear it belted, size to your bust and let the belt take care of the waist.

Belted, with knee boots — the intended look.
Unbelted and loose, over leggings, with sneakers.
Fully unbuttoned as a light layer over a tee and jeans, sleeves rolled.

Good to know

Does the belt come with it? Yes — it's listed as a belted style, so the tie is part of the dress rather than something you supply.

Is it long enough to wear on its own? At roughly 33" from the shoulder it sits mid-thigh on most people. Comfortable on its own for many; over leggings or slim jeans if you'd rather have the coverage.

Will the plaid fade? Polyester holds dye well. Cold washes and low heat will keep the colors where they started.
