Tan corduroy straight leg pants with a contrast panel running down the side seam. The panel is the whole idea — a vertical line down the outside of the leg, which does the same thing a side stripe does on a track pant: makes the leg read longer.
Why corduroy, and why now
Corduroy has ridges — wales — running the length of the fabric, which give it texture and a subtle vertical direction that flat cotton doesn't have. It also has a small amount of nap, so like velvet it shifts slightly in the light. In a straight leg with a colorblocked side panel, both effects work in the same direction: down.
The details
- Contrast side panel running the full length of the outside seam.
- Straight leg, which is the shape that sits between skinny and wide and suits the most people.
- Button closure and pockets.
- Stretch cotton corduroy — 98% cotton with 2% elastane, so it gives at the knee and the seat.
- Full length, running about 40.6" to 41.7".
- Sizes S through XL.
How to wear them
- A tucked knit or fine sweater — corduroy has enough texture that the top can be plain.
- A boot, so the straight leg has something to break over.
- A cropped jacket, keeping the vertical line of the side panel unbroken.
- With cream or white on top; tan corduroy sits beautifully against both.

Before you order
How do I care for corduroy? Wash it inside out on cold. The ridges flatten with friction, and turning them inward is what protects them. Don't press hard with an iron — steam instead.
Will the knees go baggy? The 2% elastane is there specifically to prevent that. Cotton corduroy without stretch will bag out at the knee; this won't, or not nearly as fast.
Are they warm? Warmer than a cotton twill of the same weight. The pile traps a little air, which is why corduroy has always been a cold-weather fabric.
