Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

Halter Top and Wide Leg Pants Set

A halter top and pants set with a wide leg, in white, black, bright grey, khaki and light pink, in sizes S to XL. The appeal of a matching set is that the hard part is already done — the two pieces are cut from the same fabric in the same weight, so the drape matches and nothing reads almost-right the way separates often do.

How the halter top and pants set fits

The halter ties at the neck, leaving the shoulders and upper back open — a strapless or adhesive bra is the right call underneath. The pants are wide through the leg and fall from the waist rather than the hip. Both pieces have light stretch, so take your usual size; if your top and bottom sizes differ, order to the larger and the halter will adjust down.

Fabric and care

100% polyester with a slight stretch. It holds its shape, does not crease in a suitcase, and dries fast — which is most of the reason a set like this ends up being the thing you pack. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low.

Wearing the two pieces separately
