Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

Camouflage print on a high-waisted wide-leg jean. Camo has spent the last few years moving out of workwear and into ordinary wardrobes, and a wide leg is the cut that makes the transition convincing — it reads as fashion rather than surplus.

Why camo works as a neutral

This is the part people miss. Camouflage is built from greens, browns, tans, and black — the same palette as most of what's already in a closet. That makes it far easier to wear than an equivalent floral or geometric print: it goes with black, white, cream, denim, olive, and tan without any thought.

Treat it as a patterned neutral and it stops being intimidating.
