Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

High-Waisted Striped Wide-Leg Casual Pants

Vertical stripes and a high waist — a combination that does flattering things without appearing to try.

Three color ways: gray with pink, green with pink, and blue-green.

The leg is properly wide, falling from a high, buttoned waist all the way down.

The short version

High waist. It sits at the natural waist, which is what makes the leg read long.
Stripes run vertically down the leg — the direction that lengthens rather than widens.
Button closure for a cleaner front than an elastic waistband gives.
Three color ways, none of them plain black.
Sizes S to 2XL, with waist measurements from 29.1" to 37.8".

Fabric and fit

100% polyester with a fluid drape — that fabric choice is what lets a wide leg swing instead of standing stiff. Length runs 39.8" to 41.3" from waist to hem, so on most heights they'll skim the floor in a flat shoe and clear it in a heel. Hip runs 41.7" to 50.4".

Styling them

A fitted tee, tucked in, so the high waist actually shows.
A cropped jacket that ends at or above the waistband.
A heel or platform if you want the full floor-length line.

Before you order

How high is high? They're designed to sit at the natural waist — the narrowest point, above the hip bone. Measure there, not where your jeans usually sit.

Will they be too long? At 39.8"–41.3" they're cut for a full-length line. Under about 5'4" you'll want a heel, or a quick hem.

Do they wrinkle in a suitcase? Barely. That's polyester's one real advantage over cotton here.
