    Shop Long Winter Coats for Women

    A long winter coat is the warmest shape you can buy, because it covers the part of you that a short jacket leaves out in the cold: your seat and thighs. This collection is every longline coat we carry — tailored wool and tweed coats, belted and tie-waist styles, double- and single-breasted coats, long quilted puffers and hooded parkas.

    Tailored or Quilted

    A tailored longline coat in wool, tweed or plaid is the one that goes over work clothes and dresses and still looks finished. A long puffer or parka is the warmer, more casual choice for snow and wind. Many women own one of each.

    Belted, Double-Breasted or Single-Breasted

    A belt or tie waist keeps a long coat from swallowing your shape — the best choice if you are petite. Double-breasted closes with an overlap that blocks wind across the chest. Single-breasted is the cleanest line and the easiest to wear open.

    Fit and Sizing

    Check the sleeve and shoulder measurements in our size chart: a long coat that fits at the shoulder can be worn over a sweater without pulling. Plus sizes are in plus size winter coats.

    Long winter coats: questions before you buy

    Is a long coat warmer than a short one?

    Yes. Covering your hips and thighs keeps far more body heat in than the same coat cut at the waist.

    Can I wear a long coat if I am short?

    Yes — choose a belted or tie-waist style and wear it closed so the waist shows. That keeps the proportions balanced.

    How fast will my coat arrive?

    Orders of $50 or more ship free to the US and Canada; under $50 is a flat $5. Orders usually ship 3–4 days after you order and most US orders arrive 3–5 business days after that.

    Can I return a coat if it doesn't fit?

    You have 30 days after delivery to request a return. Items need to be unworn with tags attached, and once the return is approved we email a free return label. Clearance and final-sale items can't be returned.
