Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

An oversized chunky knit that manages the trick most chunky sweaters don't: it looks substantial and weighs almost nothing. 100% acrylic, ribbed, cut wide and easy through the body, in apricot, black, burgundy, red, and khaki.

Why lightweight matters here

Chunky knits usually come with a penalty — the heavier the yarn, the more the sweater pulls on your shoulders and the hotter it gets indoors. Acrylic gets around that. It builds loft without density, so you get the visual bulk of a chunky knit and can still keep it on through a whole afternoon inside.

Should I size down? Only if you want it merely relaxed. The oversized fit is the design — take your usual size to get the look in the photos.

Does acrylic pill? It can, at the friction points. Wash it inside out on cold, dry it low or flat, and a sweater comb once a season handles the rest.
