Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

  1. Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
  2. Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
  3. Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
  4. Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

  • Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
  • Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
  • Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

A sweater covered in a heart pattern, cut with dropped shoulders so it falls loose rather than sitting tight across the upper arm. Six colors: pink, red, black, purple, gray, and a soft neutral called dust storm.

What makes it work

  • The pattern is all-over, not a single graphic. That's the difference between a sweater with a heart on it and a sweater that reads as patterned — the second one is far easier to wear past February.
  • Dropped shoulders. The seam sits down the arm, which gives the sweater its slouchy line and stops it pulling when you reach.
  • Ribbed knit with a slight stretch for movement.
  • Six colors, which lets you decide how loud the hearts are. Red and pink lean sweet; gray, black, and dust storm keep it subtle.
  • Relaxed through the body — the bust runs 42.5" at S up to 48" at XL, so there's room to layer.

How to wear it

  • With straight jeans and boots. Let the pattern be the only thing going on.
  • Over leggings, sleeves pushed up.
  • Half-tucked into a high-waisted skirt so the dropped shoulder line doesn't read shapeless.
  • Under a solid coat in a color pulled from the hearts.

Before you order

Is this only for Valentine's? The neutral colorways — gray, black, and dust storm — wear as a patterned sweater year round. The pink and red read more seasonal.

How does a dropped shoulder fit? Looser through the shoulder and upper arm than a set-in sleeve. Take your usual size; the relaxed line is the design.

What color is dust storm? A soft muted greige — the most neutral of the six, and the easiest one to layer.
