What cat's whiskers are
The fine radiating fade lines at the front of the hip, where a pair of jeans creases when you sit. On vintage denim they appear naturally after years of wear. Here they're built in, which is what gives a brand-new pair the look of one you've owned for a while.
Be aware: this is polyester denim
These are 95% polyester with 5% elastane rather than cotton denim, and it's worth knowing which you're buying. The trade-offs are real in both directions.
What you gain: they don't shrink, they hold the wash and the whiskering without fading, they're lighter to wear, and they come out of a suitcase without creases.
What you give up: polyester doesn't breathe like cotton, so they'll feel warmer in summer, and they won't soften and mould to you the way a cotton jean does over a year.
If you want jeans that break in, look at our cotton pairs instead. If you want a wide-leg jean that always looks the same and needs no thought, this is the easier one to own.

Which wash should I get? Deep blue is the more versatile jean; black is the one that dresses up. If you're buying one, blue.
How should I size? Go by hip. A wide-leg jean is fitted at the waist and hip and loose everywhere below, so those two measurements decide the fit.
Will they be too long? Bottom length runs 42.1" to 44.7", cut for a full-length line. If you're petite, plan on a heel or a hem.
