How oversized is oversized
The bust runs 51.2" on the small and 56.7" on the extra large, with a body length of 24.4" to 26.2". A standard crew neck in a small measures closer to 40" across the bust, so this is roughly a foot of extra room.
Take your usual size to get the look. Sizing up adds width, not length — and at these measurements there is already a great deal of width.
Oversized done the useful way
There are two ways to make a sweater oversized. One is to exaggerate the proportions until it becomes a statement piece you have to build an outfit around. The other is to keep the shape familiar and simply add room.
