Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

A dark brown crew neck sweatshirt with PRAY across the front, the letters filled with plaid rather than printed flat. It's a quieter way to wear a faith piece — the message is there, but the palette and the pattern keep it looking like something you'd wear anywhere.

What makes it work

Plaid-filled lettering. The pattern inside the letters gives the graphic texture instead of a flat block of color.

Fabric and fit

65% polyester, 35% cotton. The polyester keeps its shape and stops it shrinking; the cotton is what you actually feel. It's cut generously through the chest with a longer body, so it works over leggings without needing to be tugged down, and layers over a collared shirt without pulling.

With jeans and sneakers. That's what a sweatshirt is for.
Over leggings with tall boots, sleeves pushed up.
With a collared shirt underneath, collar out at the neck.

Good to know

Will the lettering crack? Wash it inside out on cold and skip high dryer heat — heat is what breaks down a graphic over time, far more than washing does.

Does it shrink? A 65/35 blend shrinks far less than 100% cotton. Cold wash and low heat and it should stay put.

Is it oversized? Relaxed rather than oversized. Take your usual size for room to layer, or size up if you want the slouchy look.
