Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

An oversized tan crew neck sweatshirt with star patches and visible seam detailing. The tan body keeps it neutral; the stars and the seams are what stop it being a plain sweatshirt.

Patches, not prints

A printed star sits flat on the fabric and eventually cracks. A patch is a separate piece stitched onto the surface — it has an edge, a slight raise, and it survives washing in a way print doesn't. That's the difference you notice in year two.

The seam detailing works alongside it: construction turned into decoration, which gives the sweatshirt structure without adding a single graphic.

Fabric and fit

65% polyester, 35% cotton. The cotton is what you feel; the polyester is what stops it shrinking and keeps the patches sitting flat. It's cut generously — the bust runs from about 41.7" at the small to 49.6" at the extra large, with a body length just over 25" to 27.6", so it sits at or below the hip.

How to wear it

With denim shorts in warm weather; jeans and boots in cold.
Over leggings or joggers when comfort is the whole point.
Layered over a longer tee, with the hem showing below.
Half-tucked into high-waisted jeans so the oversized body doesn't read shapeless.
