Denim & Jeans

Denim is sized by waist. Many of the brands we carry — including Judy Blue, RISEN and KanCan — label sizes as a number followed by the waist measurement, for example 7(28).

Tummy-control denim: Styles with a tummy-control waistband run more generous than standard denim. If you are between sizes in these, size down — the compression panel adds structure and takes up the extra room.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure over your underwear, not over clothing. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight enough to compress.

Bust — measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist — measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above the belly button. Don't hold your breath.
Hip — stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Inseam — measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the hem to fall, in the shoes you plan to wear.

Still Between Sizes?

If you land between two sizes, the fabric decides it:

Woven, non-stretch (most shirts, blazers, structured dresses) — size up.
Heavy stretch (leggings, ponte, tummy-control denim) — size down.
Oversized or relaxed styles — take your usual size; the extra room is already built in.

WWJD Mix Pattern Letter Graphic Exposed Seam Loose Sweatshirt

Two design ideas — mixed-pattern lettering and exposed seams — that keep a simple graphic sweatshirt from looking mass-produced.

The details

Mixed-pattern letters. Each character carries its own print rather than all four matching, which is what gives the graphic its handmade, pieced-together look.
Exposed seams. Turned outward and left raw — a deliberate detail, and the reason this doesn't read like a plain blank with a print slapped on.
Genuinely loose. Cut wide through the body for a slouchy fit.
Moderate stretch, more give than a standard sweatshirt.
Light gray, which is the neutral that goes with literally everything.

Fabric and fit

A 50/50 cotton-polyester blend — the classic sweatshirt ratio, and the reason it feels soft from the first wear rather than needing a few washes to break in. The cotton half gives you breathability and hand-feel; the polyester half keeps it from shrinking or losing its shape. The body is cut loose, so it falls away from you rather than following your shape.

How to wear it

Over leggings or bike shorts, the classic weekend uniform.
With straight jeans and white sneakers, sleeves pushed to the elbow.
Half-tucked into high-waisted denim, so the loose body doesn't read shapeless.

What does WWJD stand for? What Would Jesus Do — a phrase that came out of a nineteenth-century novel and became shorthand on wristbands and tees in the nineties. This is a softer, more designed take on it.

Are the exposed seams durable? They're constructed to be worn that way, not left unfinished. Turn it inside out to wash and they'll hold up like any other seam.

Should I size down? Only if loose isn't what you want. Take your usual size for the intended fit.
